Offered is a fantastic five-volume vintage I.C.S. (International Correspondence Schools / International Textbook Company) engineering reference collection focusing on structural engineering, concrete construction, foundations, piling and technical drawings.
This set includes:
• Foundations and Flat Slabs — No. 328D (1941)
• Concrete, Foundations, and Piling — No. 299B (1933)
• Reinforced-Concrete Design — No. 296 (1943)
• Plain- and Reinforced-Concrete Construction — No. 295D (1936)
• Elements of Timber and Concrete Drawings — No. 290 (1932)
The books contain detailed technical information, engineering illustrations, construction drawings, diagrams and reference material covering concrete construction, reinforced concrete, foundations, piling, flat-slab construction, timber construction and structural drafting.
The books have the distinctive dark blue/black cloth bindings with gilt lettering and make an impressive matching group for collectors of vintage engineering and technical publications.
The I.C.S. series is particularly interesting to collectors because these books were produced as practical technical instruction/reference material. A specialist bookseller currently lists the 1932 Elements of Timber and Concrete Drawings (#290) at $60 in Very Good condition.
