Vintage lot of three Holland Thread Co., Inc. wooden spools with original Pure Dye Machine Silk thread.Includes three large vintage wooden spools in silver/gray, black and taupe/bronze tones. Labels identify the thread as “Pure Dye Machine Silk.” Two labels are marked 520 yards and one is marked 390 yards, indicating the original spool capacities; actual remaining yardage is unknown.All three spools still retain a substantial amount of silk thread. Bottoms have original stamped identification numbers, including 1644/B on the black spool and 653 on the silver/gray spool.These were made as machine-sewing silk and may also be of interest for vintage sewing, restoration, embroidery, jewelry or pearl/bead stringing, costuming, textile work, or display.Vintage condition with expected age-related wear to the wooden spools and paper/foil labels.
