Vintage, likely 1980s, hand-painted “RIDE CLOSED” amusement park sign from Gillian’s Wonderland Pier in Ocean City, New Jersey.A wonderful piece of original Jersey Shore amusement park history, this square sign features hand-painted red stencil lettering on a white-painted board. Gillian’s Wonderland Pier was a longtime Ocean City Boardwalk institution and closed permanently in October 2024.The sign measures approximately 12 inches by 12 inches.The board has three mounting holes along the upper edge and one mounting hole near the lower edge. It shows substantial authentic working wear from use, including scratches, scuffs, surface grime, soiling, paint loss and wear around the edges and mounting holes. The reverse also shows extensive wear and marks.
