Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear. Both plaques feature natural wood slice bases with bark edges and silver-tone raised metal decorations. Some surface wear, discoloration, patina, scratches, and marks are present consistent with age. Both have hanging hardware attached. Vintage German Wall Plaques – Oberndorf & Hettingen 1978 – Set of 2

Unique matching pair of vintage German decorative wall plaques dated 1978.

Each plaque features a natural wood slice with bark edge and an ornate silver-tone raised metal scene.

One plaque is marked “OBERNDORF 1978” and features a walking male figure carrying flowers, along with birds, wheat, and a “Zum Ziel” sign.

The second plaque is marked “Hettingen 1978” and features a young female figure walking through a woodland scene.

Both plaques feature the German phrase “Wer rastet, der rostet,” a traditional saying roughly meaning “He who rests, rusts.”
