Vintage Fisher M-Scope 1260-X Metal Detector, Tested
The batter compartment door is secured using a nut. It appears that the threaded portion may have been glued. The door secures normally.
I am not an expert on metal detectors and have tested it to the best of my ability, It responds when the buttons are turned and responds when different metal is placed underneath (A wrench, quarter and penny). Sold as is.
