Vintage 1960s Cutco 9 piece cutlery set, complete with both original brown wall mount trays. Made in the U.S.A.

Each blade carries the early two-digit stamp, NO. CUTCO [number] over MADE IN U.S.A. No. 25 also carries PROCESS PAT. NO. 2147079.
The set has a mix of Cutco\'s Double-D serrated edges and straight edges. Cutco introduced the Double-D edge in 1960, which places this set in the 1960s.
The brown swirl handles are Cutco\'s wedge-lock design by industrial designer Thomas Lamb, shaped to fit the hand. They are molded resin, not wood, and riveted through a full tang.
Two molded trays are included: a 6 slot tray for the knives and a 3 slot tray for the forks and spreader. Both are marked CUTCO MADE IN U.S.A. PAT. PENDING, with fiberboard backs and two keyhole hangers each, so they can hang on a wall or sit in a drawer. The trays are mottled brown with dark marbling, as made.
Condition: a used vintage set in good shape for its age. The handles have faded unevenly over the years, so the browns do not match exactly; No. 23 is the lightest and shows wear where the handle meets the blade. Blades show light surface scratches from use, most on carving fork No. 27, which also has marks on the back near the handle. Stamps are faint on 21, 23, 26 and 27. The trays have no cracks, with light scratches, very light water staining on the backs, and lighter marks where the pieces rested that only show with the knives removed. Handles were cleaned and conditioned with food-grade mineral oil. Please review all photos.
