Features individually applied sewn white stars, separately sewn red and white stripes, and a heavy reinforced canvas hoist. Each end of the hoist has a large gray metal attachment ring secured with three brass/copper-colored rivets.
The 48-star American flag was the official U.S. flag from 1912–1959, dating this example to that period. Exact year of manufacture and maker are unknown. Construction and hardware appear consistent with older vintage flags, but no specific military or WWII provenance is being claimed.
