The inscription has faded gracefully with age, consistent with 50 years of storage, and exactly what authenticity looks like.
George R. wore #14 on his Little League cap at the precise moment Jim Rice was making #14 legendary at Fenway Park, just miles away. Rice joined the Sox in 1974.

Interior sweatband shows honest age wear including a small hole in the lining. This is a cap that was worn and loved, then carefully stored for half a century.
