Vintage Bandai No. 4090 Police Auto Cycle battery-operated police motorcycle toy, made in Japan circa the 1960s.A fantastic example of classic Japanese postwar tin toy manufacturing, this large police motorcycle features a white tinplate Honda-style motorcycle with chrome-tone detailing, rubber tires, molded plastic police officer rider and the original blue wired handheld control unit.The motorcycle retains a tremendous amount of character and detail, including:• Honda emblem on the fuel tank
• Front “POLICE” sign
• Policeman in bright blue uniform with helmet and goggles
• Red police lights
• Chrome-tone handlebars, wheels and rear luggage rack
• Rubber tires
• Stabilizing wheel underneath the motorcycle
• Original wired battery/control unit with steering wheel and colored control buttonsThe toy measures approximately 11.8 inches / 30 cm long.This example displays very nicely for its age. There is expected vintage wear including scratches, scuffs, paint loss, discoloration, surface dirt and small areas of oxidation consistent with a toy that is approximately 60 years old.
