Absolutely beautiful vintage 1960s–1970s Stuart’s Inc. Boston, Massachusetts silk dress, acquired from the estate/wardrobe of a New Jersey socialite known for exquisite taste and an extensive collection of custom-made clothing. Many of her pieces were specially made for her, and her wardrobe reflected an exceptional level of quality and attention to detail.This dress is crafted from beautiful silk in a timeless navy blue polka-dot print against a creamy ivory background. It has an incredibly flattering vintage silhouette with a fitted bodice, softly shaped neckline, exceptionally tiny waist, and wonderfully full pleated skirt.Underneath is a beautiful tulle lining that gives the skirt additional body and structure. The construction, fabric, and dramatic silhouette make this a particularly special vintage piece.Please note condition carefully: This dress shows its age and is being sold as a vintage piece in need of some care. There is discoloration, yellowing/aging, and spotting in multiple areas throughout the silk. I have not attempted to clean, wash, or spot-treat the dress, as I prefer to leave treatment to a professional experienced with delicate vintage silk. Some of the discoloration may respond well to professional cleaning or careful spot treatment, but no guarantees are made.There is also some light interior wear around the zipper area. The zipper works properly; the wear is primarily to the interior surrounding the zipper. Please examine all photographs carefully for the condition and aging present.Despite these condition issues, this remains an absolutely beautiful vintage silk dress with plenty of life left in it.
