Beautiful vintage vanity carryall dating to approximately the 1950s, featuring a mosaic of genuine mother-of-pearl accented with clear rhinestones on a gold-tone metal case.
This compact evening purse opens to reveal an impressively designed vanity interior with mirror, powder compartment, hinged lipstick holder, and a fabric-lined compartment. A flexible snake-chain handle allows it to be carried as a tiny evening bag or vanity purse.
The piece is unsigned, but it is attributed to Wiesner of Miami based on a documented example with the same distinctive design, dimensions, handle, and interior configuration. Because there is no visible maker's mark, it is being sold as an attributed piece rather than a definitively signed Wiesner item.
Includes its original protective fabric pouch, comb, and pressed powder.
Approximate measurements:
• Case: 4.25" wide × 3" high × .88" deep
• Chain: 10" long
• Handle drop: approximately 4.5"
Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Please review all photographs closely for condition, including the metal surfaces, mother-of-pearl mosaic, rhinestones, mirror, interior compartments, and pouch. Photos are considered part of the description.
A wonderful example of mid-century vanity accessories and an unusual collectible piece for lovers of vintage compacts, minaudières, evening bags, and 1950s accessories.
