Vintage Eastman Kodak 16mm Golf Film Archive – 1930s Era
Offered here is an unusual vintage Kodak 16mm film-related lot consisting of:
* One 16mm film reel containing exposed vintage golf footage
* Two original Eastman Kodak / Cine-Kodak Panchromatic Safety Film boxes
* Original handwritten notes found with the boxes
* Original period postage stamps and mailing information
* Historical sender information from James L. Swindler of Greenville, South Carolina
* Boxes addressed to Eastman Kodak Stores, Washington, D.C.
The film has been partially inspected only by holding short sections to light. It clearly contains vintage golf footage showing a male golfer practicing or swinging.
One handwritten note appears to reference:
“Bobby Jones – Charlie Yates”
A second note appears to include:
“foursome – Stirling”
The notes were found with the related Kodak film boxes. However, the identities of the people shown in the film footage have not been independently verified, and no claim is being made that Bobby Jones, Charlie Yates, Alexa Stirling or any other specific person appears in the film.
One box appears to show a faint “Develop Before JUL 1939” marking.
The boxes and notes show substantial age-related wear, staining, tears, edge loss, handwriting, old postage and storage wear consistent with their age.
The film reel has not been projected, fully viewed, digitized, cleaned or professionally inspected. It is being sold exactly as found.
