Description
Antique framed Danish street scene print depicting Østergade in Copenhagen, Denmark, filled with pedestrians, horse-drawn carriages, storefronts, and highly detailed late-19th-century architecture.
The print is captioned “Parti af Østergade” along the bottom. Handwritten information on the reverse identifies it as a wood block print, original 1888, Walking Street, Copenhagen. This notation appears to have been added by a previous owner, collector, or dealer and has not been independently authenticated.
The intricate line work and busy city scene make this a striking piece of antique European architectural and Copenhagen history. Presented behind glass in a vintage silver-tone frame with hanging wire attached.
Shows expected age-related wear including toning/discoloration to the paper and surface wear to the frame. Please review all photos carefully, including the reverse and handwritten markings, for exact condition and details.
A beautiful display piece for collectors of antique prints, Copenhagen or Danish history, European architecture, historic street scenes, and 19th-century artwork.
