Open scrollwork silver antique pendant, Victorian, circa 1900. Does not come with a chain. The opening underneath the scrollwork suggests it may have been used as a \"scent pendant\" where a little piece of cloth or sponge would be inserted that was saturated with perfume, herbs, spices or resins and the open scrollwork portion allowed the fragrance to escape. These were worn around the neck as in this case, or attached to a chatelaine or clothing.
The back has intertwined monogram initials of original owner. It measures approximately 1-1/2\" long x 3/4\" wide.
