Up for sale is a beautiful and exceptionally rare 1928 Acme Toy Company \"Honey\" Character Baby Doll. This is the highly desirable 24-inch model, which was the largest and grandest size produced for this line. She features classic chubby toddler proportions with a heavy cloth torso and composition limbs and head.
Facial Features & Condition (Excellent):
The highlight of this doll is her beautifully preserved face. The composition head seems to be free of cracks, splitting, or crazing, which is incredibly rare for a 98-year-old doll. She has a wonderful smiling expression with a molded open mouth showing her upper teeth. She features her original tin sleep eyes that function properly. Her original eyelashes are still present, though there is some typical partial eyelash loss due to age.
Body & Limb Condition (Good/Fair):
- Torso: The original stuffed cloth body is structurally sound and clean, with only one minor small hole.
- Limbs: The composition arms and legs display expected, age-appropriate surface crazing (fine hairline cracking).
- Hands: There is minor paint lifting/peeling confined strictly to one pinky finger. The rest of the fingers and toes are intact.
- Mechanism: The internal crier box mechanism is present but currently non-working/silent.
Clothing:
She comes dressed in a beautiful, vintage cream-colored knit sweater and a matching bonnet with pink ribbon trim. No idea if this is original or not but it fits her nicely.
Height: Approximately 24 inches- Material: Composition head and limbs, stuffed cloth body
This is a magnificent, large-scale survivor from the late 1920s that displays beautifully. Please review all high-resolution photos carefully to assess her vintage condition.
