I took this Vasco Translator E1 to Colombia. Across a restaurant table it did exactly what Vasco promises: hands-free, it picks who is talking and does a great job with language translation, the LED shows whose turn, and the phone stays in your pocket with the screen off. On the loud streets of Bogotá and Medellín, and on the factory floors we toured, it was overmatched. That was our trip. It is the only reason this pair is for sale.
So, before anything else: if your job is a dinner, a meeting, a clinic hallway, a check-in desk, keep reading. If you need a packed street or a shop floor, this is not your device. I would rather lose the click than have you open the box disappointed.
What it will not do: play music, take calls, or translate without your phone\'s internet. Both earbuds are right-ear by design, and the idea is that you hand one to the other person. They sit over the ear, not in the canal, which is why sharing one is not unpleasant.
Condition, plainly. Both earbuds charge. Factory reset, so you pair fresh. The earpieces are excellent. Slight pocket wear you will have to hunt for, and small surface marks on the charging case. For nearly the entire trip they rode inside a padded professional camera case. [Wiped down with alcohol before packing.]
In the box: original retail box and sleeve, both earbuds, charging case, USB-C charging cable, quick start guide, and the felt pouch for the case, never used. The cable in two photos is a GoPro-branded USB-C cable; you get a USB-C charging cable.
Why $279? Vasco listed these at $389. I bought this one new from Vasco\'s Amazon store in May 2026 and the receipt is on file. What you are paying for beyond the hardware is less uncertainty: known history, complete kit, charging verified, factory reset done, and a seller telling you exactly where it falls short. It ships from a person in Lexington, Kentucky, not a liquidator.
One independent review, voice-translator-review.com, said the hands-free mode \"worked very well\" in \"a noisy Italian restaurant,\" and that Vasco\'s 96% accuracy claim \"is not exaggerated.\" The same review notes you need the phone\'s internet and that both buds are right-ear only. I agree with all four sentences.
