This view of Tours across the River Loire, in the Orléan region

shows the Pont de Tours arched bridge and cathedral

Unsigned but beautifully painted

Lovely image of fishing boats and scenery

Photographs of unmounted, mounted then framed image

You will notice the corners had been removed from the unmounted painting

The watercolour is on paper fixed to page from an album -see photos

The album paper has light staining on the reverse - see photos

Image size approximately 7\" x 5\"

Mounted and set inside an oak frame 11\" x 8\"

found in an Album (last photo attached) that is in poor condition

Backing paper has light image of another drawing in the album

I was reluctant to remove the image from the backing paper

I am in the process of listing several watercolours, drawings and old photographs from a large damaged scrapbook album (last photo attached).
From limited research I have ascertained that the album possibly originally belonged to the Roundell Palmer family. The Rector of Mixbury/Finmere was William Jocelyn Palmer (1778-1853) married to Dorothea Roundell of Gledstone Hall.Their sonRoundell Palmer became1st Earl of Selborne in 1882.
