The Austrian System developed by Paul Stern, a figure in early international contract bridge. The Vienna / Austrian System became one of the early highly artificial offerding systems to achieve international prominence.
Condition Notes: Hardcover binding is firm and square. Boards show some fading/discoloration to the rear board, with some scuffing and bending to the corners, as pictured. The lettering on the front board and spine remains sharp. Pages show toning consistent with age. Previous owner\'s name in light pencil on front endpaper; text block is otherwise clean and solid and the binding remains secure. Original dust jacket is present and protected in a mylar sleeve. The jacket has significant edge wear and bleeding of color on the rear panel in places, as pictured, along with spine wear and chipping. There is also masking tape on the back of the dust jacket.
