A rare numbered limited edition of the cult classic "Take Ivy" — the book that defined Ivy League style for generations of menswear enthusiasts.
Originally published in Japan in 1965, Take Ivy set off an explosion of American-influenced "Ivy Style" fashion in Tokyo. Photographer Teruyoshi Hayashida, together with writers Shosuke Ishizu, Toshiyuki Kurosu and Hajime (Paul) Hasegawa of the VAN Jacket circle, captured candid images of students on the campuses of Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown and other Ivy League universities — lounging in the quad, studying in the library, riding bikes and heading to class, all dressed in classic American-made clothing. Original copies are extremely scarce, and powerHouse Books' English edition brought the book to a worldwide audience.
This copy is from the limited edition of just 300, housed in a kraft-board slipcase with blind-embossed title and publisher name, and stamped "LIMITED EDITION 175 of 300". The hardcover book with dust jacket is in very good condition with clean pages and no writing observed. The slipcase shows light surface marks and minor scuffs. Please see all photos.
