Our vintage Action Man (circa 1967) is attired in a Soldiers of the Century British Infantryman uniform that Palitoy released in the same year. A detailed description of the individual accessories is available below:
- Vintage 1967 Action Man with painted hard head, hard hands and baby feet has the correct Palitoy stamp on his lower back. He is clean and intact with stress cracks typical of a lad of his age. Joints are tight overall; he holds a comfortable pose. Main notes are a loose wrist and a loose fitting foot. Minimal hair and face paint rubs and light surface wear. The lad displays very nicely.
- Battle Dress Tunic constructed of a heavy weave fabric with square pleated pockets, back pleats, separately stitched cuffs, and double stitched waistband. Embellishments include machine embroidered rank stripes and unit insignia, crossed swords unit badge and two tier medal ribbon. The tunic is clean with all insignia present and firmly attached with no fading or tears. Snaps are in good working order. A tiny hole on the back, close to the right shoulder seam, is hard to see but noted anyway (arrow in photo marks the spot).
- Matching Battle Dress Trousers follow the 1937 pattern, featuring separate ankle tabs, an open square pocket and a sewn outline of a round pocket. Trousers are clean with no fading, tears or holes noted, and very light play wear. Two snaps in perfect order.
- Twenty-two cord, elastic matching green gaiters are clean and intact with nice, bouncy elastic.
- MK2 \'steel\' combat helmet, originally introduced in WW1, is stamped Hasbro ® Hong Kong. Lugs, strap and hook are present and intact, and in perfect working order.
- Black Boots with intact eyelet holes and replacement black laces are clean and intact with no splits or holes noted. Soles are stamped Hasbro Hong Kong, and numbered 1 and 2 respectively.
- Heavy weave Combat Pistol Belt is complete and intact with very light play wear.
- Water Bottle and cover are intact with the cork round eyelet and side eyelet (so often broken) present. Snap is in perfect working order with minimal play wear.
- Gas Mask (also called a small box respirator) is tagged Hasbro ® Hong Kong. No breaks or repairs noted. Rubber hoses are intact. Aftermarket plastic replacement eye lenses is the main note.
- Gas Mask Bag in heavy weave dark sand colored fabric is clean and intact with very light play wear. Rope waist cord and loop both present. Snaps are in good working order.
- First issue Victoria Cross medal with original paper decal is clean and intact with minimal play wear. Prongs are nice and straight. A slightly crooked paper decal is the only note.
- Sten SMG is stamped Hasbro ® Hong Kong. Hard to find original clip is present and fits snugly in place. Original elastic strap is present with fair elasticity for its age.
- Action Man Soldiers of the Century Intelligence Manual is clean and intact with no missing pages or marks noted. Cover wear and typical paper aging are the main notes.
