Q: Will this starter fit my car?
A: This starter fits ONLY the specific vehicles in the compatibility chart. Match by OE part number — not by year/make/model alone.

Q: How do I confirm the right starter for my car?
A: Three ways to check:
① Match OE number — find the part number stamped on your original starter
② Count the teeth — starter drive gear tooth count must match your flywheel/flexplate
③ Check bolt pattern — some engines have both straight-across and staggered bolt patterns
Q: The mounting holes don't line up?
A: Some vehicles (especially GM 3.1L/3.4L/3.8L) use two different bolt patterns. If the holes don't align, you likely have the wrong bolt-pattern variant. Count the bolt holes and measure the spacing before ordering.
Q: My car is manual transmission — will this fit?
A: Manual and automatic transmissions often use different starters (different nose cone depth or tooth count). Check the compatibility table care
🔧 BEFORE YOU REPLACE — DIAGNOSE FIRST
Q: Car won't crank — is it definitely the starter?
A: Not always. A "no-crank" condition can also be caused by:
① Dead battery — check voltage: should be ≥ 12.4V. Try jump-starting first
② Bad battery cables/terminals — corroded or loose connections
③ Blown fuse or bad relay — check starter fuse and swap relay with a known good one
④ Faulty ignition switch — try starting in Neutral (automatic) or with clutch fully depressed (manual)
⑤ Security system / immobilizer — flashing security light on dash?
→ Simple test: Turn headlights on and try to crank. If headlights stay bright but engine doesn't crank → starter issue. If headlights dim significantly → battery issue.
Q: I hear a single "click" but engine won't turn over?
A: A single loud click usually means the starter solenoid is engaging but the motor isn't spinning. Possible causes:
① Low battery voltage — charge battery fully and retest
② Poor ground connection — check engine-to-chassis ground strap
③ Starter solenoid contacts worn — if battery and cables test good, starter is faulty
Q: I hear rapid clicking when turning the key?
A: Rapid clicking (machine-gun sound) is almost always a dead or weak battery — NOT a bad starter. The starter solenoid is chattering because there isn't enough power to hold it engaged. Jump-start or charge the battery first.
Q: Starter spins but engine doesn't crank (whirring sound)?
A: This means the starter drive gear is not engaging the flywheel. Possible causes:
① Wrong tooth count on starter drive
② Starter not shimmed correctly (common on GM small-block V8)
③ Damaged flywheel/flexplate teeth
