Offered here is an antique football uniform that I believe dates back to the mid-20th century Marquette Hilltoppers (later Golden Avalanche) football team. Marquette\'s historic football program was ended in 1960 primarily due to financial losses. The jersey is blue wool with yellow sewn numbers and trim. The jersey is tagged Sand Knit size 38 distributed by College Athletic Supply Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, home to MU. The colors match Marquette\'s color scheme.
Founded in 1892, the program enjoyed a successful 69-year run, highlighted by a 7–1 regular season in 1936 and an appearance in the inaugural Cotton Bowl on January 1, 1937.
