I have updated my rating scale in January of 2025. The new scale that I am using rates different parts of the watch on a scale between N-R-10-1. From the highest to lowest rankings, they mean the following: N= Brand New, R= Refurbished (polished and looks new, no replaced parts), 10= Like new(store display, may have small handling marks, possibly unworn), 9= Like new (may have been worn a handful of times), 8= Excellent, 7= Very Good, 6-5= Good, 4-3= Less than Good, 2-1= Poor. Any noteworthy issues or concerns will also be listed by the numerical grade for each part of the watch. Lastly, I do not give the dial/hands a numerical grade, but a few descriptive words, as I think it is important to note the dial/hand condition as well.

General Item Condition

• Refurbished Watches: Watches listed as refurbished are still completely original and authentic. Refurbished means that the cases and bands have been refinished, as well as the crystal (if applicable), and that they look new or almost new again. Titanium watches are notoriously difficult to photograph, especially after being refinished. Dark spots often appear in pictures, but can be wiped off/are not present in person. Gaskets are not replaced during the refurbishing process. Watches that are rated for water resistance have not been tested, and have not had gaskets replaced unless mentioned above. We always advise caution before using a watch in water, especially vintage pieces where gaskets may have worn out.
• Preowned Watches: Watches that are preowned are often sold in the condition that we receive them in. This is in an attempt to avoid damaging the watch in any way. Preowned watches may be cleaned through a noninvasive procedure that includes the removal of the movement, ultrasonic cleaning of the case and band, steam cleaning of the case and band, and reassembling of the watch. Plastic crystals may be buffed and polished to remove light scratches as well. The bright lighting and flash in the picture taking process make fingerprints and small scratches look much more severe than in person; watches often look better in person. If a watch has excess micro-scratching, it will be noted above. Watches that are rated for water resistance have not been tested, and have not had gaskets replaced unless mentioned above. We always advise caution before using a watch in water, especially vintage pieces where gaskets may have worn out. Any notable damage or issues would be noted above.
• Native American Jewelry: Native American jewelry is always sold in the condition that we receive it in. We do not clean Native American pieces to avoid removing antiquing, and to not damage the precious stones. Due to the nature of silver jewelry, depending on when it was listed and how long it has been, the piece may arrive with additional tarnish or more severe toning than shown in the pictures. While not common, this can happen. Please note that the bright lighting and camera flash can make tarnish on silver jewelry look like rust; none of our pieces have any rust on them. Pieces often arrive in better condition than the pictures make them out to be.
• Jewelry: The majority of the jewelry we sell is sold in the condition that we receive it in. Some items may be cleaned via an ultrasonic cleaner and steam cleaning machine. Silver items may be dipped in silver cleaner. We try to refrain from doing this unless absolutely necessary to avoid any possible damage to the stones. Due to the nature of silver jewelry, depending on when it was listed and how long it has been, the piece may arrive with additional tarnish or more severe toning than shown in the pictures. Gold pieces may be polished to remove scratches prior to listing them. Please note that the bright lighting and camera flash can make tarnish on silver jewelry look like rust, and make a brushed finish look like intense micro-scratching on gold. Pieces often arrive in better condition than the pictures make them out to be.
• Other: All other items we have for sale are in the original state and condition we received them in.
• Custom Picture Requests: We do not take custom picture requests. This includes custom videos as well. Customers will occasionally ask for pictures of us wearing/ modeling the watches or jewelry in order to see how they look, but this is something we cannot accommodate and is against our store\'s policy. How the piece looks on us will be different than how it looks on you. This has led to too many issues in the past. All measurements and sizes are posted in the listing. A professional photography studio setup and lighting are used to best represent the item for sale, in the exact state and condition it is in.

• Layaway and Holds: We do not offer any kind of partial payments, layaways, or holds, under any circumstance. Items are sold on a first come first serve basis.
• Physical Store: We often get asked if we have a physical store, we do not. We operate solely online, and do not have a brick-and-mortar store; local payment and pickup is not available.

Shipping

• Handling time: We will ship within one business day, if payment is received early enough, it will ship the same day.
• Domestic Shipping: The 50 United States and its Territories.
• International Shipping: Available through the International Shipping Program. The International Shipping Program price is calculated by adding up the domestic shipping price (often free), the international shipping price, item purchase price, currency conversion fee, and any import taxes or VAT that will be due. We have no control over the price through this program. This will significantly speed up the package clearing customs in your home country. There are no additional expenses due at delivery. International buyers who attempt to circumvent the international shipping program can expect very high shipping charges, as we will only ship direct via FedEx International Priority with signature confirmation and insurance, starting at $200, plus import taxes and customs which will fall on the responsibility of the buyer.
• Freight Forwarding Addresses: We reserve the right to cancel orders shipping to known third-party freight forwarding facilities using the \"Issue with Buyer\'s Address\". This does add a few days to delivery which is out of our control. We are not willing to circumvent the program, so please do not ask. Any issues with delivery from the Authenticator to you needs to be handled by , as they are the original shipper to you. We can help to open a ticket, but please understand that our resources are limited since we do not create the label from the Authenticator.
• All watches are sold with a 75-day warranty unless otherwise stated above. The warranty covers all mechanical issues, batteries, and other similar defects. The warranty does not include user errors, improper use, water damage, or watches that have been opened, tampered with, or modified in any way. Please message me with your order number, date of purchase, and any issues that are occurring. We are happy to start a warranty claim to get the watch repaired for you at no cost to you. We do not offer any kind of warranty on jewelry or other items that are sold in our store unless explicitly stated above in the red portion of the description.
• While we do not typically offer watch and jewelry maintenance/ servicing, we are always happy to help our customers with items they purchased from our store. If you need a battery replaced, movement overhaul or service, stone reset, or anything along those lines, please reach out to discuss possible options. Items outside of the warranty period will be repaired at the buyer\'s expense, which will be clearly explained and agreed upon before any work is done.

Returns

• Returns are accepted on most items sold at The Watch and Jewelry Exchange, unless otherwise stated above in the item description (red above).
• Returns are not allowed for items that are sold for parts/repair, or for items sold AS-IS.
• If there is damage from shipping, we will accept the return.
• If a package is lost in transit, we will issue you a refund after an investigation has been opened and adequate time has passed.
• The return period is 30-days for all items sold in our store.
• Watches must be in the same condition as when they are sent. Refurbished watches are expected to be unworn and unsized. Preowned watches should show no additional signs of wear or damage.
• Jewelry items should be in the same condition as sent. Items that have been refinished, worn, tampered with, or modified by the buyer will not be eligible for return.
• Items must be returned with all original accessories that were initially included (if applicable), such as box, paperwork, original links, etc.
• Items sold as new must be returned in their original condition. Sealed items must remain sealed, and all original packaging must be included. Watches and jewelry must be unworn and free of any signs of use.
• Returns are not accepted for damaged items caused by the customer. A few examples of this would include: Movement damage from opening the case back, getting water in a watch because the crown was not screwed down before taking a shower, a turquoise ring being worn and dropped causing the stone to crack, etc.
• We take return integrity seriously. Returns opened under false reasons (Item Not as Described vs. Buyer Remorse) or items returned with missing components will be reported directly to , and you risk your account being blocked. Returns are offered free for 30-days, so please be honest in your return reason so we can take your honest response and make adjustments as needed.
• To protect against fraud, all watches and branded jewelry that are serialized have been recorded and documented prior to shipping. Returned items with missing, altered, or swapped components will be reported to and local law enforcement, and are subject to a 50% deduction, or a complete denial of return.
• Items returned in a different condition/ used condition/ incomplete, are subject to a deduction up to 50% depending on the loss of value. This is not common, but does happen from time to time.
