Antique KaraKeçili Rug – Balıkesir Region
This authentic Antique KaraKeçili rug originates from the Balıkesir region of Western Anatolia and dates back approximately 60–70 years. Woven entirely by hand using natural wool, this piece reflects true village craftsmanship and the traditional KaraKeçili weaving character.
The rug features vibrant, well-preserved colors and a soft, lively pile, giving it both strong visual energy and a pleasant texture. As typical with genuine village rugs, there is a slight asymmetry, which is a natural result of hand weaving and adds to its authenticity.
There is one small area of age-related wear/deformation, clearly shown in the photos. Other than this minor detail, the rug remains in very good overall condition for its age.
With its honest construction, rich colors, and regional character, this KaraKeçili rug is a highly collectible piece, while still being perfectly suitable for decorative use in a living space.
