3. How to Know If Your Garage Door is a Good Candidate

Before installing the Speed-Boost Gear Mod, check if your garage door meets these conditions:

• Weight Limit: If your garage door weighs more than 30 lbs with your springs wound, do not install this mod.

• Balance Check:Disconnect your opener and check how the door behaves:

• ½-inch open-end wrench

• ¼-inch screwdriver

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Unplug the unit from the outlet.

2. Remove the sprocket cover.

3. Secure the belt:Use a vise grip to hold the belt in front of the trolley to prevent movement.

4. Remove the belt tensioner.

5. Attach the Speed-Boost Gear Mod.

6. Lubricate the new gear mod.

7. Attach the chain extension.

8. Remove the vise grip.

9. Re-tighten the belt tensioner. (Do not overtighten. If the belt sags during operation, tighten gradually just until sag disappears, and no further.)

10. Plug the opener back into the outlet.

11. Reprogram the garage door opener’s travel and force settings.
