Surrounding the advertisement is a remarkably inventive decorative border formed as a flowing ribbon illustrating the complete manual alphabet for the deaf (Azbuka glukhoniemykh), identified in the text as being distributed free of charge in the shop. The border is further enriched with dozens of finely engraved vignettes depicting jewelry, watches, scissors, thermometers, animals, toys, vehicles, and assorted merchandise, creating one of the most visually striking commercial broadsides produced in the Russian Empire during the period.
