This is one of the rarest Starbucks mugs as tracked online for years. This 2005 12oz Starbucks Mug is part of the City Mug Collector Series focused on Rotorua, New Zealand. This North Island city is arguably the cultural hub for the Māori. The white mug has Starbucks printed on the handle and a wrap-around graphic showing a whakairo. This is a traditional hand-crafted wood tiki representing various people, places, and memories. The graphic on the mug continues with the boiling mud pool (mud pot) that are found throughout the city. Rotorua is printed out in large black letters with smaller-lettered New Zealand underneath. Starbucks is written twice on the graphic.
The mug is durable weighing near 1 lb (14.6oz). The height is 3.5” and 3.25” across. The bottom of the mug shows the mug was printed in New Zealand, is microwave and dishwasher safe, and is from 2005.
The mug is in excellent condition. I lived in Rotorua in 2005 and purchased this at the city center Starbucks location.
I collected Starbucks mugs as I travelled the world for many years. A lot of them are regularly priced in our store with this mug (along with Bahrain) is the exception. Due to its value, this will need to be signed for during delivery.
