Beautiful vintage Rosenthal hand-painted porcelain brooch featuring a richly painted deep blue floral design with green foliage on white porcelain, finished with an ornate gilt scalloped border.
Marked on the reverse for Rosenthal Marktredwitz Germania / Handmalerei München. The Rosenthal Marktredwitz mark with the “Germania” designation is documented as having been used approximately 1953–1965, placing this piece firmly in the mid-century period.
The brooch is in lovely vintage condition. The porcelain presents beautifully with no chips or cracks observed and the hand-painted decoration remains vibrant. The gilt finish shows only light age-related wear.
Please note: there is some visible glue residue around portions of the porcelain/metal setting, as shown clearly in the close-up photographs. This appears consistent with an older reinforcement or reattachment of the porcelain to its mounting and is primarily noticeable upon close inspection.
