This is an original gouache floral still life by Romilda Dilley (1910–2008), a well-known Cincinnati artist and illustrator. The work features a vibrant bouquet of flowers in a vase, signed clearly in the lower right corner.
About the Artist
• Romilda Dilley was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.
• She studied at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.
• She worked as head artist and art director for Jenny, a Cincinnati department store, from 1948–1956, creating fashion illustrations now preserved in the Cincinnati Art Museum archives.
• Dilley also served as President of the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati (1972–74), cementing her reputation as one of the city’s respected mid-20th century artists.
