• The Artist (Roger Capron, 1922–2006):Roger Capron was one of the most influential and celebrated French ceramicists of the 20th century. After studying Applied Arts in Paris, he moved to the South of France in 1946 where he co-founded the famousAtelier Callisworkshop alongside Robert Picault and Jean Derval. In 1952, Capron went out on his own, launchingAtelier Capron. He won numerous prestigious international awards—including a gold medal at the 1954 Milan Triennale—and his work was picked up by luxury department stores worldwide like Saks Fifth Avenue.
