Opuntia rubescens (Road Kill Cactus)
You are purchasing 3 healthy live Opuntia rubescens cuttings taken from our mother plants. Commonly known as the Road Kill Cactus or Cowboy Cactus, this unusual prickly pear is prized for its long, thin, flattened pads that give it a distinctive appearance. Easy to grow and very hardy, it makes an excellent choice for beginners as well as experienced cactus collectors. Mature plants may produce bright yellow flowers followed by attractive fruit.

How to Plant Your Cactus
Step 1
Allow the freshly cut end to callus. Your cutting will be callusing while it ships. If needed, allow the cut end to dry for a few additional days before planting.
Step 2
Plant in a small pot with drainage holes using a well-draining cactus soil mix. A 2 to 3 inch clay pot is ideal.
Step 3
Place in bright, indirect light until roots develop. Once rooted, gradually move the plant into more sunlight.
Step 4
Wait 5 to 7 days after planting before the first watering. After that, water only when the soil is completely dry.
