This is a string-bound portfolio of photographs ofRichmond Virginia from circa 1898. The photographshave a beautiful sepia tone and lots of detail. Each has a caption beneath.
There are31 pages of photographs.The page measures 7x5.5inches (18 x 14 cm). The full-page photos measure approximately 5.5 x 4 inches (14 x 10 cm).
There is also one 12.5\" (32 cm)wide folded panoramic of downtown Richmond.
Produced by the Albertype Company as a set of mechanical photogravure prints. It is undated, but based on similar books in my collection and the presence of only horse-drawn carriages (no automobiles), it dates from 1890-1903.
