An incredibly rare, first-edition Marcel Boucher’s iconic 1941 sweeping swallow bird brooch. This magnificent piece showcases the spectacular Cartier-level craftsmanship that Boucher brought to the high-end American costume jewelry market.Unlike later production runs that feature stamped catalog numbers (9022P) or copyright symbols, the reverse of this early piece features an exceptionally clean, crisp block strike of the early "MB" initials with a single "I" (or "1") benchmark stamped directly beneath it. This indicates a highly desirable first-edition piece hand-set by Boucher’s top master artisan before the factory line templates were finalized and dates to Oct. of 1941.There are no missing rhinestones; however, there are a few darkened ones.
