A rare and impressive vintage Japanese cup anemometer manufactured by NAKAASA & Co., Ltd. in July 1958 (Showa 33).
This is an authentic Japanese meteorological measuring instrument dating back nearly seven decades and represents an interesting piece of Japan’s post-war scientific and weather-observation history.
Unlike modern electronic anemometers, this instrument features a substantial mechanical construction with rotating wind cups and a visible internal mechanical counting/measurement mechanism.
