Sorry to have to say this but sadly, it seems courtesy, common sense and keeping one's word in honoring commitments are becoming things of the past. offerding and winning means you own it once funds are received.
I have a flat rate mailing cost on large items because I ship in a box that is well-padded and protected from elements - packing materials are not free to me. I will not throw the items in a flat mailer for a cheaper rate, only to be destroyed by the postal service or be left outside by the delivery service to chance subjecting the items to inclement weather, so please don't ask.
This is a piece of history, and a snapshot of a man's life lost as a result of the Great War. I want you to receive the items in the best condition possible and enjoy it for the benefit of future collectors.
This grouping to Sgt. Charles Bettend is extremely rare to find and all of the items are in beautiful condition. This is an incredible group that is almost impossible to find anymore. records are very difficult to find on these early pilots.
The family kept the pilot badge and sadly, the pilot certification has been lost to time.

Just be aware that there is a chance, no matter how carefully packed, that the glass could get broken. But I always pack everything like it is going into battle. There is no extra charge for the case.
