Stunning Rustie “White Dove” 42-inch collectible Native American bride doll, created for Collectible Concepts. This impressive large-format doll is a limited edition #0005 of only 2,000, making her an especially early-numbered example in the edition.
“White Dove” was created by artist Rustie as her interpretation of a Native American bride. According to the original artist note included with the doll, the elaborate ensemble combines elements inspired by several traditional Native American costumes with added glamour and fantasy.
One of the highlights of this piece is the incredibly detailed hand-beaded ensemble. The costume features extensive turquoise, pearl-white and gold-tone beadwork, an elaborate white feather headdress accented with large pink flowers, long dark hair, and a dramatic full-length white outfit. The accompanying paperwork states that the ensemble was all hand beaded and required many hours of careful craftsmanship.
