Original standard dummy was made By Juro Novelty and was upgraded by Clinton and Kevin Detweiler at Maher Studios in 1979 (as shown on the date label on the control stick). Authenticity has been confirmed by Clinton Detweiler\'s son Kevin through correspondence

This Danny O\'Day ventriloquist dummy has a hollow body with a ball and socket neck. The head is mounted on a wooden post and can turn full circle, tilt, and nod! The mouth works by moving the lever on the control stick (See photos).

Danny has the classic custom \'hand painted\' Clinton Detweiler eyes

Face, hair and hands show the usual wear from age, handling and storage (SEE PHOTOS)

VeryRare \'Balanced Eye\' Mechanism

The eyes move by body movement. There is no control lever. That\'s what makes this experimental option so unique. The eyes move when you tilt the body/head. Tilt it toward you and the eyes move one way. Tilt it away and they move in the other direction

Accordingto Kevin Detweiler (Clinton’s son) the balanced eye mechanism was anexperimental idea. They created and sold only 20of these Balanced Eye Danny O’Day prototype dummies in1979 before deciding not to offer\'Balanced Eyes\' as a regular option going forward.

This is an extremely rare and collectable item. Of the 20 sold how many remain after almost 50 years? How many have you seen available for sale or even heard that someone owns one? And of those that may be out there, how many still in working condition? When contacted, Kevin Detweiler himself was amazed this one even exists, is still dated on the control stick and the \'Balanced Eyes\' still work!
