Our mealworm frass is produced from our farm-raised mealworms and carefully collected and prepared for use in gardens, containers, potting mixes, and around established plants.
Frass is a naturally produced insect-based soil amendment containing nutrients and chitin from insect exoskeletons.

🌱 How Much Should I Use? Seed Starting Mix
Mix approximately 5–10% mealworm frass into your growing medium. For very young seedlings, use lightly.
Transplanting
Small plants: 1 tablespoon
Larger plants: 2–3 tablespoons
Mix into the surrounding soil rather than placing concentrated frass directly against the roots.
New Potting Mix
Mix ½–1 cup per gallon of soil. Mix thoroughly before planting.
Garden Beds
Apply 2–4 lbs per 100 square feet. Lightly work into the top 1–2 inches of soil and water afterward.
Top Dressing
Sprinkle a light amount around the base of established plants. Keep frass 1–2 inches away from the stem and water after applying.
Compost
Sprinkle thin layers between compost additions. Avoid heavy applications, as excessive nitrogen can contribute to heating in an active compost pile.
