This vessel was purchased from Circle sale, Kansas City, Missouri, as Lot 19 in November 2018 in the Pre-Columbian South America sale, where it was identified as \"A Pre-Columbian Calima Culture Beaker.\"
The vessel measures approximately 7 x 4 3/4 inches.
The exterior is decorated in reddish-brown, black, cream and ochre pigments with multiple horizontal registers of intricate geometric and stylized designs. The slightly tapered cylindrical form, extensive painted decoration and aged earthenware surface give the vessel and exceptional display presence.

Condition:Ancient/antique condition with substantial age-related surface wear, pigment loss, deposits, abrasions and irregularities. There is visible loss/chipping around portions of the upper rim.
