For sale is an original WWI German M1916 (M16) Stahlhelm helmet shell.
Identification & Markings:
The Side skirt is stamped ET64 — "ET" being the manufacturer's code with 64 indicating the shell size. There are No interior crown stamps present or visible.
Paint & Exterior Condition:
The shell retains a substantial amount of its original Feldgrau (field gray/Green) base paint. The paint shows authentic aging, some loss, and patina/dark surface rust entirely consistent with a genuine battlefield-worn helmet that is 110 years old.
Structural Condition:
The helmet is solid with no combat damage at all , WAS MAILED BACK BY A US GI AFTER THE WAR.
The brim/skirt is intact with its original rolled edge
Interior retains original paint; no liner included — shell only
General surface rust and patina throughout, appropriate for a 100+ year old relic
