Sarah Bernhardt (1844 Paris, France – 1923) was aFrench stage actress who starred in some of the most popular French plays ofthe late 19th and early 20th centuries. She was the most famous actress inFrance in the 19thcentury, and she made several theatricaltours worldwide and was one of the early prominent actresses to make soundrecordings and act in motion pictures.
