This lovely and sweet piece is an authentic signed original J. Rankin painting - oil on board.
Inspired by “Young Woman with Letter and Locket,” 1667, by Dutch artist Caspar Netscher (1639–1684), it’s quite possible this was a portrait of his beautiful wife, Margaretha.
The former owner had this painting professionally framed. Please note, it is not housed in the original frame.
Beautiful condition with only minimal signs of age. Please review photos thoroughly.
Frame measures: 17” x 15” x 2-3/4”.
On the back of the framed artwork there is an old gallery label which research shows is from 1970s range.
