a broken plastic accumulator piston
1-2 harsh shifting or 2-1 downshifting
is a very commom problem on 4L60s.
It is common for the 1-2 plastic accumulator piston to wear or crack,
damaging the accumulator housing and finally breaking the 1-2 springs
This causes1-2 hard shifting ,fluid leak resulting in delayed engagement, slippage,burning friction clutches or burning the 2-4 band.
To prevent1-2 hard shifting
Transgo made a oem 1-2 UPGRADE replacement aluminum piston.
1-2 aluminum piston accumulator replace the 1-2 plastic piston
and it is thicker than OE plastic piston that breaks and wears out premature.
