This tube remains in its original unopened government-issue packaging, just as it left the Ken-Rad factory over 80 years ago. The box is stamped with the official U.S. Army and Navy designation, contractor markings, and acceptance date.

📖 Historical Significance
The JAN (Joint Army-Navy) designation was introduced during WWII to ensure the highest quality standards for military electronics. These tubes were used extensively in radios, radar, communications equipment, and early computing devices.
Ken-Rad (Kentucky Radio) was one of the key U.S. manufacturers of military tubes during WWII. In 1945, the company was acquired by General Electric, making early Ken-Rad military stock highly collectible among historians, audiophiles, and vintage radio enthusiasts.
The 6J5GT triode is also prized in audio circuits—essentially half of a 6SN7—making it popular for hi-fi and amplifier builds where authentic vintage sound is desired.
