Up for sale is a rare Mir-1 Grand Prix Brussels 1958 37mm f/2.8 Soviet wide-angle camera lens manufactured by ZOMZ in M39 mount. This early silver aluminum version is one of the most desirable Mir-1 variants, featuring the famous \"Grand Prix Brussels 1958\" engraving and the classic optical design that has made these lenses favorites among collectors and vintage lens photographers alike.
The lens is in good overall condition for its age. The exterior shows normal wear typical of early aluminum-bodied Soviet lenses, while the engravings remain strong and easy to read. The front element is clean, and the rear element has only a few very light cleaning marks. There is also a very small trace of fungus near the edge of the rear element. It does not affect image quality and has not impacted the photos I\'ve taken with the lens. The focus is smooth, the aperture operates properly throughout its range, and the aperture blades are clean.
The Mir-1 is well known for its distinctive vintage rendering, excellent close-focusing ability, and Flektogon-inspired optical design. Whether adapted to a modern mirrorless camera or used on a compatible Soviet camera, it produces images with plenty of character while remaining surprisingly sharp.
An M39 to M42 adapter ring is included, making it easy to use on M42 cameras or adapt to modern mirrorless systems with the appropriate adapter. The case pictured is also included.
Please review the detailed, high-quality photos for the overall condition and everything that\'s included, as they form part of the description. Due to the nature of vintage photography equipment, no returns are accepted. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Feel free to check out my other sales for a lot of photography items from my collection. Thanks!
