These have a long-nap, slightly shaggy suede that naturally shifts and changes direction. Depending on the lighting and how the suede is sitting, the color can look a little more black or a little more blue in places, which is part of what gives the material its character.
I tried to show that variation in the photos. The nap can also flatten or move around pretty easily, but it brushes or fluffs back up without much effort.
