Matched pair of genuine Maxon (Swiss-made) precision motors, part number 269872. Per Maxon’s catalog, each is a combination of an RE 40 motor (Ø40 mm, graphite brushes, 150 watt) with an Encoder MR Type L, 500 CPT, 3 channels with line driver. The RE 40 is one of Maxon’s most popular and well-documented motors, valued for smooth, powerful, long-life brushed DC operation, and the MR encoder provides reliable quadrature position response. The encoder terminates in a 5-pin circular connector marked “Check connector orientation before insertion.”
Each motor carries a custom-machined mounting flange and a cylindrical drive coupling with an internal keyed dog. This appears to be application-specific hardware from the source equipment rather than a Maxon gearhead, and there is no gear reduction. The coupling is bolted on and appears removable to expose the standard RE 40 mounting face and output shaft, so the motors can be adapted to your own use.
Both units were removed from working equipment.
