"The Jewel Under the Lotus" is a distinctive kaleidoscope by Italian artist and designer Massimo Strino. The design is inspired by an antique-style copper and brass Tibetan incense container and features an elegant, ornate appearance.

The two-mirror optical system creates an eight-point mandala-style image. The oil-filled object chamber contains a mixture of colorful glass, crystal, and gemstone-like objects, allowing the image to change smoothly as the object chamber is rotated.

The piece has a distinctive antique and ethnic aesthetic, resembling a small decorative telescope. A protective cap covers the object chamber when not in use, helping keep it protected from dust and dirt.
