Marantz Model 5200 vintage stereo cassette deck, made in Japan.
Beautiful classic Marantz silver-face design with original wood cabinet, large illuminated VU meters, dual microphone inputs, line input/output, external adaptor connections and full-size analog controls.
POWER-ON TESTED:
The unit powers on and the VU meters/front-panel illumination are working as shown in the photographs.
FUNCTIONAL TESTING:
I do not currently have a cassette tape available, so cassette playback, recording, fast-forward, rewind and other tape-transport functions have not been tested.
Because those functions have not been tested, the deck is being sold as powers on / functionality otherwise untested. Please do not assume that the cassette transport or audio functions are operational.
Cosmetic condition
Overall, this is a very attractive vintage Marantz deck with the original wood cabinet and complete-looking front panel.
There is normal age-related wear, dust, surface marks and some discoloration/oxidation around portions of the controls. The wood cabinet shows some scratches and signs of age. The meter window and other surfaces have some dust/smudging.
Please examine all photos carefully, as the photographs are an important part of the condition description.
The illuminated VU meters make a particularly nice presentation when the unit is powered on.
