Growing Double Mix Portulaca Garden Seeds:
Double Mix portulaca seeds grow hardy succulents that perform well when sown directly after the frost. For early blooming, start Double Mix portulaca seeds indoors 6-8 weeks prior and transplant seedlings after the frost. For direct sowing, plant Double Mix portulaca seeds ¼" deep and 12" apart in average, medium moist, and well-drained soil in full sun. Be sure to plant Double Mix seeds at the southern end of the garden or in full sun, because this dwarfed variety can be easily cast in season-long shadow. Double Mix portulaca seeds are known to perform in poor soils and gardens prone to heat and drought. Be sure to ventilate properly because plants are susceptible to crown rot in poorly-drained soils. Portulaca has no serious pests or diseases but monitor regularly for aphids and other possible leaf eaters. Double Mix portulaca seeds mature in 84-91 days as 3-9" dwarfed succulents with a 6-12" spread covered in 2" rose-like blooms in a mix of salmon, fuchsia, canary, carmine, ivory, and peach. Double Mix portulaca may reseed itself for next season in optimal conditions.

The Moss Rose quickly became a worldwide favorite and has earned its own name in several different countries including Gul Dopheri("Afternoon Flower") in Pakistan, Nau Bajiya("Nine O'Clock Flower") in India, Hoa Muoi goi("Ten O'Clock Flower") in Vietnam, and Uru-alas Dose (“Twelve O'Clock Flower") in the Philippines.
